The ASRock Z790 Taichi Lite WiFi DDR5 is a premium EATX motherboard designed for Intel 12th, 13th, and 14th Generation Core processors on the LGA1700 socket. Built around the Intel Z790 chipset, it delivers a comprehensive feature set for enthusiasts and power users who demand robust connectivity, high-speed storage, and strong overclocking headroom in a single platform. At the heart of the power delivery system sits a 24+1+2 phase design using 105A Smart Power Stage (SPS) MOSFETs for VCore and GT domains, paired with an enlarged heatsink armor to sustain demanding workloads over extended sessions. Capacitor quality is reinforced by Nichicon 12K Black Caps, which are 100% Japan-made high-quality conductive polymer capacitors, alongside a flexible integrated I/O shield for clean installation. Memory support spans four DDR5 DIMM slots in dual-channel configuration, accepting up to 192 GB of non-ECC unbuffered DDR5. XMP 3.0 profiles are supported, with native speeds up to 4800 MHz (1DPC 1R) and overclocked speeds reaching 7200+ MHz under optimal single-rank, single-DIMM-per-channel conditions. Storage expansion is extensive: one PCIe Gen5 x4 M.2 slot (128 Gb/s) fed directly from the CPU, plus four PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 slots and eight SATA3 6 Gb/s ports. RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 are supported for SATA devices; RAID 0, 1, and 5 for NVMe storage. Intel VMD is also supported. Connectivity is anchored by dual-band Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax, 2x2 160 MHz, including the 6 GHz band) with Bluetooth 5.3, a Killer E3100G 2.5 Gigabit LAN port, and an Intel I219V 1 Gigabit LAN port — both managed via Killer DoubleShot Pro for intelligent traffic prioritization. The rear panel provides two USB4 / Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports at 40 Gb/s, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, six USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, and two USB 2.0 ports. A front-panel USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C header supports 60 W fast charging at 20 V/3 A.
