The ASUS ROG STRIX B850-A Gaming WiFi is an ATX-form-factor motherboard built around the AMD B850 chipset and the AM5 socket, offering compatibility with AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 Series desktop processors. Its distinctive all-white PCB makes it a standout choice for aesthetics-focused builds, while the ROG STRIX feature set delivers the connectivity and reliability demanded by enthusiast gamers and PC builders alike. On the memory side, four DDR5 DIMM slots support up to 256 GB of RAM with overclocked speeds reaching 8000+ MT/s using AMD EXPO or ASUS AEMP profiles. Both ECC and non-ECC un-buffered DIMMs are supported in a dual-channel configuration, and non-ECC DDR5 modules also benefit from die ECC functionality. Storage expandability is generous: four M.2 Key-M slots are provided, with M.2_1 supporting PCIe 5.0 x4 (for Ryzen 9000/7000 processors) alongside two SATA 6 Gb/s ports, giving builders plenty of options for NVMe SSDs and traditional drives. Every M.2 slot is covered by a heatsink, and a backplate further aids thermal management for high-performance drives. Connectivity is a clear strength. The integrated 2x2 Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) module covers 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands with up to 2.9 Gbps transfer rates, accompanied by Bluetooth 5.4.
