The Addlink S72 1TB (model AD1TBS72M2P) is an M.2 2280 NVMe internal solid state drive built on a PCIe Gen3 x4 interface with NVMe 1.3 protocol. It uses 3D QLC NAND flash to deliver a measured balance of capacity and performance suited to workloads such as gaming, digital audio and video production, and general-purpose system upgrades from 2.5-inch SATA drives. Sequential read performance reaches up to 3,400 MB/s and sequential write up to 2,000 MB/s under internal CrystalDiskMark testing; actual speeds will vary depending on the host system, interface, and workload. For random small-file operations, the S72 delivers up to 125,000 IOPS read and 500,000 IOPS write (4K random). The compact M.2 2280 form factor (80 mm × 22 mm × 3.5 mm max, 8.2 g) allows installation in slim notebooks and small-form-factor systems that support the M.2 slot, replacing legacy mSATA or mini-PCIe solutions. Drive management is supported through Addlink's SSD Toolbox software, which provides firmware information, SMART status monitoring, health diagnostics, secure erase, and drive identification features. Reliability features include Wear Leveling, Bad Block Management, TRIM, S.M.A.R.T., Over-Provisioning, End-to-End Path Protection, Thermal Throttling, ECC/Refresh, and TCG OPAL/Pyrite hardware encryption support. The rated MTBF is 1.8 million hours, and the endurance rating is 260 TBW. The drive operates between 0 °C and 70 °C and can be stored between -40 °C and 85 °C.
