The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D is a high-performance desktop processor from the Ryzen 9000 series, built on the advanced Zen 5 architecture and manufactured using TSMC's 4nm FinFET process for the CPU core dies and TSMC's 6nm FinFET process for the I/O die. Designed for the AM5 platform, it slots into any compatible AM5 motherboard supporting chipsets including A620, B650, B650E, X670, X670E, B840, B850, X870, and X870E, giving builders and upgraders a wide range of platform choices. With 16 CPU cores and 32 threads enabled by Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT), the Ryzen 9 9950X3D handles demanding workloads ranging from content creation and 3D rendering to high-refresh-rate gaming. The base clock runs at 4.3 GHz, with Precision Boost 2 technology pushing the maximum boost clock up to 5.7 GHz under optimal conditions. The total cache stack of 144MB — comprising 1280 KB L1, 16 MB L2, and 128 MB L3 — is a defining feature of this processor's X3D designation, leveraging AMD's 3D V-Cache stacking technology to dramatically increase the L3 pool and reduce memory latency in cache-sensitive workloads.
