The Ampere streaming multiprocessors deliver improved FP32 throughput alongside 2nd-generation RT Cores for ray-traced lighting and shadows, and 3rd-generation Tensor Cores that accelerate AI-based features such as DLSS. Together these technologies allow the card to handle modern titles with greater visual fidelity than non-RTX alternatives in the same class. Cooling is handled by two Axial-tech fans whose shorter hub design accommodates longer blades and a barrier ring to direct airflow downward onto the heatsink. ASUS’s 0dB Technology takes the thermal strategy further: when GPU temperature drops below 50 °C during light workloads, the fans stop entirely, removing fan noise from the equation. For sustained loads the fans ramp up automatically to maintain stable operating temperatures. Connectivity covers one native DVI-D port, one native HDMI 2.1 port, and one native DisplayPort 1.4a port, supporting up to three simultaneous displays at a digital maximum resolution of 7680 × 4320. HDCP 2.3 is supported. The card uses a PCI Express 4.0 interface and draws supplemental power through a single 6-pin connector, with ASUS recommending at least a 450 W power supply for a fully configured system. The ASUS GPU Tweak III utility lets users adjust GPU core clocks, memory frequency, and voltage settings, with real-time screen monitoring. A 144-hour validation programme tests each design against a range of scenarios to confirm compatibility. NVLink and CrossFire multi-GPU configurations are not supported.
