The ASUS Prime B850-Plus WIFI-CSM is an ATX form-factor motherboard built on the AMD B850 chipset for the AM5 socket, designed to work with AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 series desktop processors. It balances capable feature coverage with everyday usability, making it a solid platform for PC builders who want modern connectivity without moving to a flagship chipset. At the heart of its power delivery is an 8+2+1 phase digital power design with discrete MOSFETs, providing stable voltage regulation for AM5 processors across varied workloads. Four DDR5 DIMM slots support up to 256 GB of memory, with speeds up to 8000+ MT/s (OC) achievable on Ryzen 9000 and 8000 series processors. The board supports AMD EXPO profiles for XMP-equivalent out-of-box overclocking, and ASUS's own AEMP technology helps optimize performance on modules without native EXPO support. Storage options are generous: three M.2 slots (all Key-M) provide fast NVMe connectivity — one via PCIe 5.0 at up to 128 Gbps, and two via PCIe 4.0 — complemented by four SATA 6 Gb/s ports. The primary x16 PCIe slot runs at PCIe 5.0 x16 on Ryzen 9000 and 7000 processors, supporting current and upcoming discrete graphics cards.
