Overview
The ASUS ProArt Z790-Creator WiFi is an ATX motherboard built around the Intel Z790 chipset, designed to pair with 12th and 13th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold, and Celeron processors using the LGA1700 socket. It is aimed at content creators who need high-throughput connectivity, robust power delivery, and extensive storage options in a single platform. Connectivity is a standout feature. Two rear-panel Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB4 compliant) deliver up to 40 Gbps bi-directional bandwidth and can drive up to two 4K or one 8K display via a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter, supplemented by a dedicated DisplayPort input on the back I/O. Dual Ethernet — a Marvell AQtion 10 Gb controller and an Intel 2.5 Gb controller — run simultaneously, enabling high-speed local NAS access alongside internet streaming without bandwidth conflicts. Wireless connectivity is handled by an onboard 2×2 Wi-Fi 6E module supporting 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax) paired with Bluetooth 5.3. Memory support spans four DDR5 DIMM slots accommodating up to 128 GB, with speeds from 4800 MHz native up to 7200 MHz (OC) via Intel XMP and ASUS AEMP II profiles in dual-channel configuration.
