The GIGABYTE B850M Aorus Elite WiFi 6E ICE is a Micro ATX motherboard built on the AMD B850 chipset, designed for AMD Socket AM5 processors including Ryzen 9000, Ryzen 8000, and Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. Its white ICE aesthetic and compact 24.4 cm x 24.4 cm form factor make it an appealing choice for space-conscious builds without sacrificing capability. At the core of the platform is support for DDR5 memory across four DIMM slots in a dual-channel configuration, accommodating up to 256 GB (with 64 GB single-DIMM capacity). Standard speeds of 4400, 4800, and 5200 MT/s are supported natively, while overclocked profiles reach up to DDR5-8200 via O.C. settings. Both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP profiles are supported, giving builders flexibility in memory tuning. Storage options are comprehensive. The primary M.2 slot (M2A_CPU) supports PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe SSDs with Ryzen 9000 and 7000 CPUs, while the secondary M.2 slot (M2B_CPU) runs at PCIe 4.0 x4. Four SATA 6 Gb/s ports provide additional storage connectivity, with RAID 0, 1, 5 (Ryzen 9000 only), and 10 support for NVMe arrays, and RAID 0, 1, and 10 for SATA arrays. Connectivity is strong. Wired networking is handled by a Realtek 2.5GbE LAN chip supporting 2.5 Gbps, 1 Gbps, and 100 Mbps. Wireless is provided by the Realtek RTL8852CE Wi-Fi 6E module, covering 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands with 802.11ax and 160 MHz channel support, complemented by Bluetooth 5.3. A directional ultra-high-gain antenna is included for improved signal strength. The back panel provides one USB Type-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2), two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, five USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort (up to 3840×2160 @ 144 Hz via integrated Radeon graphics), one RJ-45 jack, two audio jacks, and one optical S/PDIF output. Internal headers include a USB Type-C with USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 support, addressable RGB Gen2 headers (x3), one RGB header, and fan/pump headers supporting both PWM and DC modes with up to 24 W per header. The Q-Flash Plus button enables BIOS updates without a CPU or memory installed. GIGABYTE's BIOS incorporates X3D Turbo Mode, which applies optimised parameters to enhance gaming frame rates on Ryzen 9000 X3D and compatible non-X3D processors with a single click. Auto CPU and DDR5 Memory Boost functionality is also present for one-click performance tuning. GIGABYTE Control Center software provides system monitoring and fan curve customisation in Windows 10 and Windows 11 64-bit environments.
