Overview
The Gigabyte X570S UD is a full-sized ATX motherboard (30.5 cm x 24.4 cm) built on the AMD X570 chipset for the AM4 socket. It is compatible with AMD Ryzen 5000 Series, Ryzen 5000 G-Series, Ryzen 4000 G-Series, Ryzen 3000 Series, Ryzen 3000 G-Series, Ryzen 2000 Series, and Ryzen 2000 G-Series processors, making it a flexible platform for current-generation AMD desktop builds. The board carries a 12+2 phase digital VRM solution with 50A DrMOS power stages, backed by high-coverage MOSFET heatsinks and a six-layer PCB. These elements work together to sustain stable power delivery under sustained CPU workloads and overclocking. Memory support spans four DDR4 DIMM slots in a dual-channel, daisy-chain routed configuration, accommodating up to 128 GB (32 GB per single DIMM) of ECC or non-ECC unbuffered DDR4 memory. XMP profiles up to DDR4-5100 (O.C.) are supported when using compatible Ryzen 4000 G-Series processors. Standard JEDEC speeds from DDR4-2133 through DDR4-3200 run without overclocking. Storage is well-provisioned with three M.2 Socket 3 connectors — each equipped with a thermal guard heatsink — supporting PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe and SATA SSDs in form factors from 2242 up to 22110. Six SATA 6 Gb/s ports add conventional storage capacity with RAID 0, 1, and 10 support (RAID requires Ryzen 5000 or 3000 Series). Networking is handled by a Realtek 2.5GbE LAN chip supporting 2500/1000/100 Mbps multi-gigabit speeds, bundled with Realtek's bandwidth management utility. USB connectivity includes USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and Type-A ports at both the rear panel and as an internal header, plus four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and two USB 2.0 ports at the rear. The rear panel also features an HDMI 2.1 port (4096×2160 @ 60 Hz, HDCP 2.3, HDR) for use with G-Series processors that include integrated graphics. Audio is powered by a Realtek HD Audio CODEC supporting 2/4/5.1/7.1 channel output, with noise-isolation circuitry separating the analog audio section at PCB level. Fan control is managed by Smart Fan 6, which supports up to seven control points per header in slope or stair mode. All fan headers deliver up to 24 W (12 V × 2 A) and support PWM, DC, and pump modes. RGB Fusion 2.0 controls two addressable LED headers and two standard RGB LED headers. Q-Flash Plus allows BIOS updates from USB storage without installing the CPU, memory, or graphics card. The BIOS itself uses a licensed AMI UEFI interface (256 Mbit flash, ACPI 5.0, SM BIOS 2.7).
