Overview
The GIGABYTE X870 Aorus Stealth is an ATX form-factor motherboard built around the AMD X870 chipset and Socket AM5, supporting AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 Series processors. It is designed for builders who want a capable, well-cooled platform for gaming and productivity workloads without excessive visual flair. At the heart of its power delivery is a 16+2+2 phase Digital Twin VRM layout built on a 6-layer, mid-loss, 2X copper PCB with premium chokes and capacitors. This configuration is intended to provide consistent voltage to multi-core processors even under sustained loads. Memory support extends to four DDR5 DIMM slots in a dual-channel configuration, accepting modules up to 256 GB total capacity (64 GB per DIMM). DDR5 speeds are supported at native 4400/4800/5200 MT/s and overclocked up to 8200 MT/s, with compatibility for both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP profiles. Storage is handled by four M.2 slots: two CPU-connected slots (M2A_CPU and M2B_CPU) that support PCIe 5.0 x4 with Ryzen 9000 and 7000 processors, plus two chipset-connected slots (M2C_SB, M2D_SB) running PCIe 4.0 x4. Two SATA 6 Gb/s ports are also available. GIGABYTE's M.2 EZ-Flex thermal solution and EZ-Latch Plus screwless retention system are present across the M.2 slots to simplify drive installation. Networking is provided by a Realtek 5GbE LAN controller alongside a Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 (QCNCM865) module supporting 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands with 320 MHz channel width, and Bluetooth 5.4. Wi-Fi 7 functionality requires Windows 11 SV3. For display output, the board offers one HDMI 2.1 port (up to 4096×2160 @ 60 Hz) and two USB4 Type-C ports via the ASMedia USB4 controller, both supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode at up to 3840×2160 @ 240 Hz. Additional rear connectivity includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. Internally, a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C header is provided. The primary PCIe x16 slot is reinforced with GIGABYTE's PCIe UD Slot design and supports PCIe 5.0 x16 with Ryzen 9000 and 7000 processors. A secondary chipset PCIe x16 slot runs at PCIe 4.0 x4 speeds. Audio is powered by a Realtek ALC1220 codec offering 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel output with S/PDIF optical out. Fan management supports up to six fan and pump headers with hardware monitoring for voltage, temperature, and flow rate. BIOS is a 512 Mbit AMI UEFI implementation with Q-Flash Plus for BIOS recovery without a CPU installed.
