The Gigabyte Z390 D is an ATX-form-factor motherboard (30.5 cm x 23.0 cm) built on the Intel Z390 Express Chipset, designed to pair with 8th and 9th Generation Intel Core i9, i7, i5, i3, Pentium, and Celeron processors in the LGA1151 socket. It is a solid platform for PC builders who want a feature-rich Intel foundation without moving to a premium tier price point. Memory support is one of the board's key strengths. Four DDR4 DIMM slots accommodate up to 128 GB total capacity (32 GB per DIMM), running in dual-channel configuration. Speeds range from the standard 2133 MHz up to 4266 MHz in overclocked mode, with full XMP profile support for hassle-free tuning. Storage is handled by a single M.2 Socket 3 connector (supporting SATA and PCIe x4/x2 NVMe drives in 2242/2260/2280/22110 form factors) alongside six SATA 6 Gb/s ports. RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 configurations are supported, and the board is Intel Optane Memory Ready for cache-accelerated storage setups. Connectivity is comprehensive. The board ships with a 128 Mbit AMI UEFI BIOS, diagnostic LEDs for rapid fault identification across CPU/DDR/VGA/HDD, anti-sulfur resistor protection, an audio noise guard with PCB-level isolation, and onboard RGB LED strip header support via RGB Fusion.
