The GIGABYTE Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 is an ATX form factor motherboard built around the Intel Z690 Express Chipset and LGA1700 socket, designed to support 12th Generation Intel Core i9, i7, and i5 processors. It delivers a capable platform for PC builders who want a balance of performance features, connectivity, and upgradeability without stepping into the highest tier of the Z690 lineup. Power delivery is handled by a 16+1+2 digital VRM design with 70A power stages and tantalum polymer capacitors, supplemented by shielded memory routing to reduce signal interference. Thermal management is addressed through high-coverage MOSFET heatsinks and enlarged M.2 thermal guards across all four NVMe slots. Memory support spans four DDR4 DIMM slots with a dual-channel architecture, accommodating up to 128 GB total capacity (32 GB per DIMM) and speeds from 2133 MHz up to 5333 MHz via overclocking. XMP profiles are supported natively. Storage connectivity is a highlight: four M.2 connectors (all PCIe 4.0 x4, one also supporting SATA) and six SATA 6 Gb/s ports with RAID 0/1/5/10 support give builders extensive options for fast NVMe SSDs alongside traditional drives. For wireless connectivity, the onboard Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 module supports 802.11ax on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands at up to 2.4 Gbps theoretical throughput with Bluetooth 5.2.
