The Intel Core i9-14900KS (BX8071514900KS) is the binned flagship of Intel's 14th Gen Core desktop family, built on the Raptor Lake architecture and Intel 7 process. It pairs 8 Performance-cores and 16 Efficient-cores for 24 total cores and 32 threads, with a Performance-core base clock of 3.2 GHz, Efficient-core base of 2.4 GHz, and a Max Turbo Frequency of 6.2 GHz via Intel Thermal Velocity Boost. Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 hits 5.9 GHz, while P-cores reach 5.7 GHz and E-cores 4.5 GHz under load. A 36 MB Intel Smart Cache backed by 32 MB of L2 keeps high-thread workloads fed, while Intel Thread Director helps Windows route gaming and productivity threads to the right core type. The processor has a 150 W base power and 253 W Maximum Turbo Power, with a 100 C TJUNCTION ceiling - plan for a high-end air or 240 mm+ liquid cooler. For memory, the i9-14900KS supports up to 192 GB across two channels, with DDR5 up to 5600 MT/s or DDR4 up to 3200 MT/s and a maximum memory bandwidth of 89.6 GB/s. ECC memory is supported on compatible Intel platforms. Platform connectivity is handled by 20 PCI Express lanes spanning PCIe 5.0 and 4.0, configurable as 1x16+4 or 2x8+4, plus DMI 4.0 with 8 lanes to the chipset. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770 (32 EUs, 300 MHz base / 1.65 GHz max) provides display output via HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a and eDP 1.4b, with up to four displays and 8K@60 over DP. The chip drops into existing FCLGA1700 boards (Z790, Z690 and select B/H series) after a BIOS update and is sold without a stock cooler. It is fully unlocked for overclocking and includes Intel vPro Enterprise/Essentials eligibility, Hyper-Threading, AVX2, VT-x/VT-d, Intel Hardware Shield and Boot Guard.
