The MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus is a full-size ATX motherboard built around the Intel Z490 chipset, designed to accommodate Intel 10th Generation Core, Pentium Gold, and Celeron processors in the LGA1200 socket. Its 12+1+1 Duet Rail Power System, paired with 8+4-pin CPU power connectors, delivers stable current headroom for demanding multi-core workloads and overclocking sessions. Memory capacity reaches up to 128GB across four DDR4 DIMM slots, with XMP profile support and overclocked frequencies scaling to 4800+ MHz in a single-rank, single-channel configuration. MSI's DDR4 Boost technology applies isolated signal routing to reduce interference and preserve data integrity at high speeds. Storage is handled by six SATA 6Gb/s ports and two Key-M M.2 slots, each capable of PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA 6Gb/s operation. The M.2 Shield Frozr thermal covers help manage drive temperatures under sustained sequential loads, reducing the risk of thermal throttling. RAID configurations 0, 1, 5, and 10 are supported on SATA devices; RAID 0 and 1 are available for M.2 PCIe devices.
