The MSI Spatium M450 500GB is a PCIe Gen4 M.2 NVMe solid state drive designed to deliver fast sequential throughput for both desktop and notebook systems. Built on the PCIe Gen4x4 interface and compliant with the NVMe 1.4 standard, it pairs a PHISON E19T controller with 3D NAND flash memory in the compact M.2 2280 (80 × 22 × 2.15 mm) form factor, making it straightforward to install in any compatible slot without a heatsink. For everyday tasks, game loading, and file transfers, the drive reaches sequential read speeds of up to 3,600 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 2,300 MB/s. Random 4K performance is rated at up to 300,000 IOPS read and 550,000 IOPS write, keeping the system responsive even under mixed workloads. Maximum operating power is 3.4 W, dropping to 40 mW at PS3 idle and just 5 mW in the L1.2 low-power state — a consideration for notebook battery life. Endurance for the 500GB capacity is rated at 300 TBW (terabytes written), with a mean time between failure of up to 1,500,000 hours. Built-in error-correction capabilities help preserve data integrity over the drive's lifespan.
