The Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC is the low-base-convexity variant of Noctua's second-generation NH-D15 dual tower CPU air cooler, engineered for builders who want silent, high-efficiency thermal management without liquid cooling. Where the original NH-D15 relied on six heatpipes, the G2 steps up to eight, delivering meaningfully increased thermal throughput that pays dividends under extreme sustained loads of 250 W and beyond. At the heart of this upgrade is a redesigned fin-stack architecture. Fin spacing has been tightened from 1.9 mm to 1.6 mm, enabling Noctua to integrate 26 additional fins and grow the total fin surface area by 20% compared to the first-generation model. The front fin-stack is also 5 mm narrower than before, balancing airflow load more evenly across both fans. Despite this extra density, the overall heatsink is actually 9 mm shallower in depth than its predecessor while maintaining the same width and total height including fans — a genuine reduction in physical footprint alongside a performance increase. Powering airflow are two NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans running in a speed-offset configuration, meaning the front fan spins at a slightly different rate than the rear to reduce interference patterns and keep noise low.
