Overview
The Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro AX is a full-size ATX motherboard (30.5 cm x 24.4 cm) built on the Intel Z590 Express Chipset and designed for Intel LGA1200 socket processors. It supports 11th Generation Intel Core i9, i7, and i5 processors as well as 10th Generation Intel Core i9, i7, i5, i3, Pentium, and Celeron processors, making it a versatile platform for a wide range of Intel builds. Power delivery is handled by a direct 12+1 phase digital VRM solution with 90 A Smart Power Stage components. Thermal management across the board includes the Fins-Array II heatsink—featuring a louvered stacked-fins design—a Direct Touch Heatpipe II with an 8 mm heatpipe, Thermal Guard II M.2 heatsinks, Laird 7.5 W/mK thermal pads, and a 2× copper PCB to aid heat dissipation across critical areas. Memory support spans four DDR4 DIMM slots in dual-channel configuration, accommodating up to 128 GB of system memory (32 GB per DIMM). With 11th Gen processors, DDR4 speeds up to 5400 MHz (O.C.) are supported; 10th Gen i9/i7 processors support up to DDR4 2933 MHz. XMP memory profiles are also supported. Storage options include four M.2 Socket 3 connectors: one PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 (M2A_CPU), two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots supported by 11th Gen processors only (M2B_CPU, M2C_CPU), and one chipset-side M.2 supporting SATA and PCIe 3.0 x4. Six SATA 6 Gb/s connectors are also present, with RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 support. Intel Optane Memory is supported. Connectivity is comprehensive: the onboard Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 module delivers 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax dual-band (2.4/5 GHz) wireless with 160 MHz channel support and up to 2.4 Gbps theoretical data rate, paired with Bluetooth 5.1. Wired networking is provided by an Intel 2.5GbE LAN chip. The back panel includes 1× USB Type-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2×2), 4× USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 4× USB 3.2 Gen 1, 4× USB 2.0, a DisplayPort output, RJ-45, optical S/PDIF out, and five audio jacks. Audio is powered by the Realtek ALC4080 codec supporting High Definition Audio in 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel configurations with S/PDIF out. RGB Fusion 2.0 provides multi-zone addressable LED control through two ARGB headers and two standard RGB headers. Smart Fan 6 manages up to six fan/pump headers with hybrid PWM/DC control, noise detection, and FAN STOP capability. Q-Flash Plus allows BIOS updates without installing a CPU, memory, or GPU.
