Overview
The GIGABYTE X570S Aorus Elite AX is a full-size ATX motherboard built on the AMD X570 chipset for the AM4 socket, designed to support AMD Ryzen 5000 Series, Ryzen 5000 G-Series, Ryzen 4000 G-Series, Ryzen 3000 Series, Ryzen 3000 G-Series, Ryzen 2000 Series, and Ryzen 2000 G-Series processors. Power delivery is handled by a twin 12+2 phase digital VRM solution using 60A DrMOS components, paired with full-coverage MOSFET heatsinks and thick thermal pads to maintain stable performance during demanding workloads and overclocking sessions. Memory support spans four DDR4 DIMM slots in a dual-channel configuration, accommodating up to 128 GB total capacity with individual DIMMs up to 32 GB each. The board supports XMP profiles and overclocked DDR4 speeds from 2133 MHz up to 5400 MHz (O.C.), with ECC Unbuffered support dependent on the installed CPU. Storage options are generous: three M.2 Socket 3 connectors (one CPU-direct, two chipset-connected) support PCIe 4.0 x4 or SATA SSDs in 2260, 2280, and 22110 form factors, all equipped with M.2 Thermal Guards to reduce thermal throttling. Six SATA 6 Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1, and 10 support round out the storage configuration. Connectivity includes an AMD Wi-Fi 6E RZ608 (MT7921K) module supporting 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands with up to 1.2 Gbps wireless data rate and Bluetooth 5.2, alongside a Realtek 2.5GbE LAN chip. The rear I/O features a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port (20 Gb/s), three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and four USB 2.0 ports. Audio is powered by the Realtek ALC1220-VB codec supporting 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel output, optical S/PDIF out, and DSD playback on the rear line-out jack. The onboard HDMI 2.1 port supports up to 4096x2160 at 60 Hz with HDCP 2.3 and HDR for systems with integrated graphics. Smart Fan 6 fan control provides up to seven fan curve control points, PWM/DC support on all headers, Fan Stop functionality, and water-cooling pump support at up to 2A/12V (24W). RGB Fusion 2.0 enables multi-zone addressable and standard RGB LED customisation. Q-Flash Plus allows BIOS updates without installing a CPU, memory, or graphics card. The board uses licensed AMI UEFI BIOS stored on a 256 Mbit flash chip.
