The ASUS Prime X870-P WIFI-CSM is a full-size ATX motherboard built on AMD's X870 chipset and designed for the AM5 socket, making it compatible with AMD Ryzen 9000, Ryzen 8000, and Ryzen 7000 series desktop processors. Engineered for PC builders who want a solid feature set without sacrificing reliability, it combines robust power delivery, comprehensive storage options, and next-generation wireless connectivity in a well-organised layout. Storage performance is a highlight of this board. Four M.2 slots (all Key M) are included: one runs at up to 128 Gbps over PCIe 5.0, two operate at up to 64 Gbps over PCIe 4.0, and a fourth supports PCIe 3.0. Two SATA 6 Gb/s ports round out the storage connectivity for traditional drives. This breadth of options caters equally well to high-speed NVMe OS drives and supplementary storage. Memory support is handled by dual-channel DDR5 with rated speeds up to 8000+ MHz. Maximum capacity reaches 256 GB (non-ECC, unbuffered), with support for AMD EXPO and ASUS AEMP overclocking profiles to help squeeze the most from compatible memory kits. The board draws power through a 24-pin main connector and two 8-pin +12 V CPU power connectors to ensure stable delivery under demanding workloads. Connectivity is generous. The rear I/O panel provides two USB4 (40 Gbps) Type-C ports, one USB 10 Gbps Type-A port, three USB 5 Gbps Type-A ports, four USB 2.0 Type-A ports, an HDMI output, a Realtek 2.5 Gb Ethernet port, and three audio jacks. A BIOS FlashBack button is also present for convenient firmware updates without a CPU installed. Internally, a USB 10 Gbps Type-C header, a USB 5 Gbps header, and two USB 2.0 headers expand connectivity further. Wireless networking is provided by an integrated WiFi 7 module supporting the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands with 160 MHz channel bandwidth, 4096-QAM modulation, and Multi-Link Operation for low-latency, stable connections. Bluetooth 5.4 is included alongside. Expansion slots include one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot (x16 mode, for Ryzen 9000/7000 series) and three PCIe 4.0 x16 physical slots running at x1 mode from the X870 chipset. Ryzen 8000 series processors use the primary slot at PCIe 4.0 x8/x4 mode. Note that some slot and M.2 combinations share bandwidth and may be mutually exclusive. Fan and cooling management is handled through six 4-pin headers: one CPU fan, one CPU OPT fan, one AIO pump header, and four chassis fan headers. Three Addressable Gen 2 RGB headers are on board for lighting accessories. The board carries a 3-year warranty.
