The ASRock B460M Steel Legend is a Micro ATX motherboard built on the Intel B460 chipset, designed to support 10th Generation Intel Core processors via the LGA 1200 socket. Its 9-phase Dr.MOS power design, featuring 60A premium power chokes and 50A Dr.MOS components, provides stable and efficient power delivery for a range of 10th Gen Core CPUs including i9, i7, i5, i3, Pentium, and Celeron models. Memory support spans four DDR4 DIMM slots in a dual-channel configuration, accommodating speeds from DDR4 2133 up to DDR4 2933 (Core i9/i7) or DDR4 2666 (Core i5/i3 and below), with a maximum system capacity of 128 GB. Intel XMP 2.0 is supported for compatible memory kits. Storage connectivity is handled by six SATA3 6 Gb/s ports with RAID 0/1/5/10 support via Intel RST 17, alongside two Ultra M.2 sockets — M2_1 supports PCIe Gen3 x4 up to 32 Gb/s and Intel Optane Technology, while M2_2 supports both SATA3 and PCIe Gen3 x4. Note that when M2_2 is used with a SATA-type M.2 device, SATA3_0 is disabled. Networking is handled by a Dragon RTL8125BG 2.5 Gigabit LAN controller (10/100/1000/2500 Mb/s), complete with Wake- LAN, ESD/lightning protection, and Energy Efficient Ethernet 802.3az. An M.2 Key-E slot (type 2230) is available for an optional 802.11ac WiFi/Bluetooth module. The audio subsystem uses a Realtek ALC1200 codec delivering 7.1-channel HD audio with PCB isolate shielding, individual PCB layers per audio channel, gold-plated audio jacks, and Nahimic Audio software support. Display outputs include HDMI 1.4 (up to 4K 4096×2160 @ 30 Hz) and DisplayPort 1.4 (up to 4096×2304 @ 60 Hz) for systems using Intel UHD Graphics-equipped processors. Expansion slots comprise two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (single x16 or dual x16/x4), one PCIe 3.0 x1 slot, and AMD CrossFireX multi-GPU support. Rear I/O includes four USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C port, two USB 2.0 ports, an optical S/PDIF output, HDMI, DisplayPort 1.4, PS/2, and an RJ-45 LAN port with LED indicators. ASRock Polychrome SYNC RGB lighting is supported via one RGB LED header and two addressable LED headers.
