Overview
The GIGABYTE Z890 Aorus Elite WiFi 7 DDR5 motherboard is built on the Intel Z890 Express Chipset and uses the LGA1851 socket to support Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2). Engineered for high-performance ATX builds, it delivers a robust 16+1+2 digital twin phase VRM solution to keep power delivery stable under demanding workloads. Four DDR5 DIMM slots accommodate up to 256 GB of system memory (64 GB per single DIMM) and support speeds from 5600 MT/s up to 9200 MT/s (O.C.), with compatibility for XMP profiles and CUDIMM modules. Storage is future-proofed through four M.2 connectors, including one PCIe 5.0 x4 slot (M2A_CPU) for the fastest NVMe drives available, complemented by three additional PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots and four SATA 6 Gb/s ports. A PCIe 5.0 x16 slot with reinforced PCIe UD Slot X armor accommodates the latest discrete graphics cards. RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 configurations are supported for both NVMe and SATA storage. Networking is handled by a Realtek 2.5 GbE LAN chip and a Wi-Fi 7 module (MediaTek MT7925 on rev. 1.0 / Realtek RTL8922AE on rev. 1.1), covering 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands with 802.11be and Bluetooth 5.4 support. Connectivity on the rear panel includes one Thunderbolt 4 Type-C port (up to 40 Gbps), two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 2.1 output, and optical S/PDIF Out. High-definition 7.1-channel audio is powered by the Realtek ALC1220 codec with WIMA audiophile-grade capacitors. The board's EZ-Latch Plus system enables tool-free installation of PCIe and M.2 devices, while EZ-Latch Click provides screwless M.2 heatsink removal. Three addressable RGB Gen2 headers and one standard RGB header support lighting customization through GIGABYTE Control Center. A Sensor Panel Link header allows a secondary display to be connected inside the chassis. Q-Flash Plus allows BIOS updates without a CPU or memory installed.
