The Gigabyte Z790 S WIFI DDR4 is a full-size ATX motherboard built on Intel's Z790 chipset for LGA1700-socket processors spanning the 12th, 13th, and 14th Generation Intel Core lineup, including Pentium Gold and Celeron models. Designed for builders who want a capable, well-connected foundation without overcomplicating their setup, it pairs a 8+1+1 phase digital VRM solution with low RDS MOSFETs and a one-piece MOSFET heatsink for consistent power delivery under sustained load. Memory flexibility is a strong point. Four DIMM slots in dual-channel configuration support DDR4 modules up to a maximum of 128 GB, with XMP profiles validated up to 5333 MHz. Memory routing is shielded beneath PCB inner layers to reduce signal noise. The board also accepts ECC Unbuffered DIMMs operating in non-ECC mode alongside standard non-ECC Unbuffered modules. For storage, three M.2 Socket 3 connectors each support PCIe 4.0 x4, and each slot benefits from M.2 Thermal Guard heatsinks to maintain SSD performance under extended workloads.
