Noctua NH-D15 G2 Dual-Tower CPU Air Cooler with NF-A14x25r G2 PWM Fans

The Noctua NH-D15 G2 is the second-generation flagship dual-tower CPU air cooler from Noctua, building directly on the decade-long reputation of the original NH-D15. It has been redesigned from the ground up — from its fin-stacks and heatpipes all the way through to its mounting hardware and included accessories — to deliver measurably better thermal and acoustic performance than its predecessor. At the heart of the NH-D15 G2 are two NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans, Noctua's next-generation round-frame 140mm units. These fans run at a maximum of 1500 rpm and can be dialled down to as low as 300 rpm via PWM control, or brought to a full stop at 0% PWM duty cycle for completely silent semi-passive operation at idle. To prevent acoustic interference between the two fans when operating in push-pull, Noctua offsets their speeds by approximately ±25 rpm. Two Low-Noise Adaptors are included, capping maximum speed at 1250 rpm for even quieter day-to-day use. The heatsink itself uses eight copper heatpipes — two more than the original NH-D15 — to handle demanding thermal loads, including workloads well above 250 W. The fin-spacing has been tightened from 1.9 mm to 1.6 mm, allowing 26 additional fins to be integrated and increasing total fin surface area by 20%. The front fin-stack has simultaneously been trimmed by 5 mm in width to better balance airflow loading across both fans. Despite these density improvements, the NH-D15 G2 is actually 9 mm shallower than the original, while matching it in width and total height (fans included). Fins are soldered, not press-fitted, to the heatpipes to maintain a stable thermal interface across years of heating and cooling cycles. The cooler ships in a standard all-round variant with medium base convexity suitable for AMD AM5 (with included offset mounting bars) and fresh Intel LGA1700 CPUs when used with the included NM-ISW1 shim washers. Specialised LBC (Low Base Convexity) and HBC (High Base Convexity) variants are also available separately for platform-specific optimisation. An offset design — borrowed from the NH-D15S — shifts the heatsink toward the I/O panel side of the motherboard to clear the top PCIe x16 slot on most current motherboards. In single-fan mode, at least 59 mm of clearance is provided for tall RAM heatsinks. Dual-fan mode is recommended with standard-height memory modules. The large NF-A14x25r G2 fans extend beyond the fin-stacks to direct airflow over VRMs and surrounding motherboard components. Mounting is handled by the SecuFirm2+™ Torx-based system, which includes the NM-SD1 Torx screwdriver. A tube of NT-H2 next-generation thermal compound and an NA-TPG1 thermal paste guard for AMD AM5 are also included in the package. Optional NM-I3 kits (provided free of charge by Noctua) extend compatibility to legacy Intel LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets.
