The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is a desktop processor built on AMD's Zen 4 architecture, designed specifically for gaming and enthusiast desktop workloads. It features 8 cores and 16 threads, with a base clock of 4.2GHz and a maximum boost clock of up to 5.0GHz. At the heart of its gaming performance advantage is AMD's 3D V-Cache technology, which stacks additional cache directly onto the CPU die to reduce memory latency during game workloads. The combined cache pool reaches 100MB total (512KB L1, 8MB L2, and 96MB L3), giving the processor fast access to frequently used game data. The 7800X3D uses the AM5 (LGA1718) socket and is compatible with A620, B650, B650E, X670, and X670E motherboards. It supports DDR5 memory in dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 128GB and rated speeds up to DDR5-5200 in two-DIMM configurations.
