Overview
The ASRock Z890 Live Mixer WiFi is a full-size ATX motherboard (305 mm × 244 mm) built on the Intel Z890 chipset with the LGA1851 socket, designed to support Intel Core Ultra Processors (Series 2) including Hybrid Technology, Turbo Boost Max 3.0, Thermal Velocity Boost, and Adaptive Boost Technology. An integrated NPU in compatible processors enables dedicated AI acceleration tasks directly on the platform. Power delivery is handled by an 18+1+1+1+1 power phase design using Smart Power Stage (SPS) Dr.MOS technology rated at 80A for VCore, GT, and SA rails. This configuration is paired with ASRock's proprietary 20K Black capacitors, rated for 20,000 hours of operational lifespan at 1,000 µF capacitance — up from 560 µF in previous designs — delivering lower ripple and a more stable output current under sustained loads. Two 8-pin Hi-Density Power Connectors provide the headroom needed for heavy overclocking workloads, while a 2-oz copper PCB supports efficient signal integrity and thermal management. Memory support spans four DDR5 DIMM slots in dual-channel configuration, capable of holding up to 256 GB of non-ECC, unbuffered DDR5 memory with XMP 3.0 profiles and overclocking headroom up to DDR5-9466+ (OC). CUDIMM support is also included. ASRock's Memory OC Shield reduces electromagnetic interference during high-frequency memory operation. Storage options are generous: one Blazing M.2 slot (PCIe Gen 5×4, up to 128 Gb/s), one Hyper M.2 slot (PCIe Gen 4×4, up to 64 Gb/s), two additional Hyper M.2 chipset slots (PCIe Gen 4×4), and four SATA3 6 Gb/s connectors.
