Overview
The ASRock Z890 Pro A WiFi is a full-size ATX motherboard built around Intel's Z890 chipset and the LGA1851 socket, designed to support Intel Core Ultra Processors (Series 2) with Hybrid Technology, Turbo Boost Max 3.0, Thermal Velocity Boost (TVB), and Adaptive Boost Technology (ABT). An integrated NPU provides dedicated AI acceleration for compatible workloads. At the heart of the power delivery is a 16+1+1+1+1 phase design using Dr. MOS integrated power stages, which combine the high-side and low-side MOSFETs and gate driver into a single package for improved thermal performance and higher per-phase current delivery. Dual Hi-Density 8-pin 12V CPU power connectors are rated to handle greater current than conventional connectors, supporting stable operation under heavy overclocking. A 2oz copper PCB aids signal integrity and thermal dissipation, while 1000uF capacitors reduce voltage ripple for a cleaner power supply to the processor. Memory support spans four DDR5 DIMM slots with a maximum capacity of 256 GB. The board supports DDR5 non-ECC unbuffered memory up to 9066 MHz (OC) and CUDIMM, and is compatible with Intel XMP 3.0 profiles. The ASRock Memory OC Shield reduces electromagnetic interference around memory slots to improve stability at high frequencies. Storage options include one Blazing M.2 (M2_1) running at PCIe Gen5 x4 for up to 128 Gb/s, two Hyper M.2 sockets operating at PCIe Gen4 x4 (64 Gb/s each), one Hyper M.2 socket that also supports SATA3, and four SATA3 6.0 Gb/s connectors. RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 are supported for both SATA and NVMe devices. The primary PCIe slot runs at PCIe 5.0 x16 for the graphics card. Connectivity includes a Wi-Fi 6E module (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/axe, 2x2 MIMO, 2.4/5/6 GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, and a Dragon RTL8125BG 2.5 Gigabit LAN controller. The rear panel features two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports (40 Gb/s), one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port, two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.1 (4K 120Hz), DisplayPort 1.4 (8K 60Hz), and a BIOS Flashback button.
