The ASRock Z890 Taichi Lite WiFi is a full-size ATX motherboard built around Intel's Z890 chipset, designed to support Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors in the LGA1851 socket. It brings together a robust power delivery system, next-generation connectivity, and thoughtful thermal management into a platform that targets enthusiasts and overclockers alike. At the heart of its power architecture is a 20+1+2+1+1 phase design using Smart Power Stage (SPS) Dr.MOS components rated at 110A for VCore. Paired with 20K-rated conductive polymer capacitors at 1000uF capacitance, the board is designed to deliver stable, low-ripple power under sustained heavy loads. Two 8-pin Hi-Density CPU power connectors supplement the standard 24-pin ATX connector to handle the increased current demands of overclocked configurations. Memory support spans four DDR5 DIMM slots capable of holding up to 256GB of non-ECC unbuffered RAM, with speeds reaching DDR5-9600 via overclocking. The board supports Intel XMP 3.0 profiles as well as Clocked Unbuffered DIMMs (CUDIMM). ASRock's patented Memory OC Shield reduces electromagnetic interference around the DIMM slots to improve stability at high frequencies. Wired networking offers both a 5 Gigabit (Realtek RTL8126) and a 2.5 Gigabit (Dragon RTL8125BG) port. The integrated Wi-Fi 7 module (802.11be, 2x2) covers 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands with 320 MHz channel support and MU-MIMO, complemented by Bluetooth 5.4. Audio is handled by a Realtek ALC4082 codec delivering 5.1-channel HD audio, augmented by an ESS SABRE9219 DAC rated at 130dB SNR for rear outputs, WIMA capacitors, and a front headphone amplifier supporting headsets up to 600 Ohms. The PCB itself is an 8-layer design using server-grade low-loss material and 2oz copper inner layers, supporting the signal integrity demands of PCIe 5.0 graphics and storage. XXL aluminum heatsinks cover the VRM, PCH, and all M.2 areas. BIOS Flashback allows firmware updates without a CPU or RAM installed.
