The ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE is a professional EEB-form-factor workstation motherboard built around the AMD WRX90 chipset and the AMD sTR5 socket, designed to support AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series processors with up to 96 cores. It is purpose-built for demanding workloads including content creation, software development, machine learning, and scientific computing, providing the headroom professionals need to run complex pipelines without bottlenecks. At the heart of its expansion capability are seven PCIe 5.0 x16 slots — six operating at full x16 mode and one at x8 mode — enabling flexible multi-GPU configurations or high-bandwidth accelerator deployments. Four onboard M.2 Key-M slots support PCIe 5.0 NVMe drives and can be configured in RAID, while two SlimSAS ports extend connectivity to industrial SSDs and enterprise networking equipment. Four SATA 6 Gb/s ports round out the storage options. Memory capacity reaches up to 2 TB via eight DDR5 R-DIMM slots with ECC support running in octa-channel mode (1DPC), providing the data integrity and bandwidth that professional applications require. The power delivery system comprises 32+3+3+3 power stages fed by two 8-pin +12 V CPU connectors, supplemented by two additional 8-pin PCIe power connectors on the board itself to stabilise multi-GPU loads. Thermal management is addressed through active VRM cooling with extruded aluminium heatsinks, onboard M.2 heatsinks with an active fan, and thermal pads on select M.2 slots.
