Overview
The ASUS ProArt Z890-Creator WiFi is a full-size ATX motherboard built on the Intel Z890 chipset and designed to meet the demands of content creators, AI workstation builders, and power users who require both extreme connectivity and reliable performance. It accepts Intel Core Ultra Processors (Series 2) in the LGA1851 socket, including Core Ultra 9, 7, and 5 desktop variants, and supports Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 and Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 where applicable. For memory, four DDR5 DIMM slots accommodate up to 192 GB in dual-channel configuration, with overclocked speeds supported up to DDR5-8600+ MT/s. ASUS Enhanced Memory Profile III (AEMP III) and Intel XMP support are both available, along with the DIMM Fit BIOS feature that analyses each installed module to optimise timing and stability. Connectivity is a defining strength of this board. Two Thunderbolt 5 Type-C ports and one Thunderbolt 4 Type-C port sit on the rear panel, enabling up to 120 Gbps bi-directional bandwidth and DisplayPort 2.1 video output — capable of driving one 8K or dual 4K displays via the Thunderbolt 5 ports when a discrete GPU is connected to the onboard DisplayPort Input. A Marvell AQtion 10 Gb Ethernet port and an Intel 2.5 Gb Ethernet port provide simultaneous wired connections for NAS and internet traffic. Wireless connectivity is handled by a 2x2 Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) module with Bluetooth 5.4, covering the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands at up to 5.8 Gbps on a 320 MHz channel. Storage options include five M.2 slots: one PCIe 5.0 x4 slot (supporting drives up to 22110 length) and four PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, all supporting NVMe RAID via Intel Rapid Storage Technology. Six SATA 6 Gb/s ports provide additional legacy drive support. Two PCIe 5.0 x16 expansion slots handle discrete graphics — with SafeSlot reinforcement and the tool-free PCIe Q-Release Slim mechanism — and one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot (x4 electrical) is available for additional cards via the chipset. The power delivery subsystem uses a 16(90A)+1(90A)+2(90A)+2(80A) stage design with ProCool II connectors, high-quality alloy chokes, and DrMOS integrated power stages. ASUS AI Overclocking, AI Cooling II, AI Networking II, and NPU Boost (enabling BIOS-level NPU overclocking) round out the platform-level performance tools. Audio is managed by a Realtek ALC1220P codec supporting 7.1 surround sound with up to 32-bit/192 kHz stereo playback, 120 dB SNR output, and 113 dB SNR line input, backed by gold-plated jacks and dedicated audio PCB layers.
