The ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-Plus is a Micro-ATX (mATX) gaming motherboard built around the AMD B550 chipset, designed for the AMD AM4 socket and compatible with AMD Ryzen 5000 Series, 4000 G-Series, and 3000 Series desktop processors. Its compact 9.6 x 9.6 inch (24.4 x 24.4 cm) footprint makes it an excellent choice for space-conscious builds that do not want to sacrifice performance or connectivity. At the heart of its power delivery is an 8+2 DrMOS power stage configuration, combining high-side and low-side MOSFETs with their gate driver into a single package. This is paired with ASUS ProCool connectors, Digi+ VRM digital power control, and military-grade TUF components for stable, long-term operation under sustained gaming workloads. The board supports up to four DDR4 DIMMs with a maximum capacity of 128 GB. Native DDR4-3200 is supported out of the box, with overclocked profiles extending up to DDR4-4600 (O.C.) for Ryzen 5000/3000 Series CPUs and up to DDR4-4800 (O.C.) for Ryzen 4000 G-Series processors, using dual-channel architecture. Storage options are generous for a compact form factor: two M.2 slots (one PCIe 4.0 x4 on CPU, one PCIe 3.0 x4 via chipset, both also supporting SATA mode) and four SATA 6 Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1, and 10 support. The primary x16 PCIe slot runs at PCIe 4.0 x16 with Ryzen 5000/3000 Series CPUs, providing maximum GPU bandwidth. Connectivity is handled by a Realtek RTL8125B 2.5 Gb Ethernet controller with TUF LANGuard surge protection. Audio comes via the Realtek ALC S1200A codec delivering 7.1-channel HD audio with up to 108 dB SNR for stereo line output and 24-bit/192 kHz playback, complemented by dedicated audio PCB layers, audio shielding, and premium Japanese audio capacitors. The rear I/O panel provides two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (one Type-A, one Type-C), four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 ports, DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 2.1 (4K@60 Hz), optical S/PDIF out, five audio jacks, and a BIOS FlashBack button for BIOS updates without a CPU installed. ASUS Aura Sync RGB lighting is supported via onboard headers (two standard RGB and one Addressable Gen 2), and Fan Xpert 2+ manages the four fan/pump headers.
