Overview
The ASUS TUF Gaming B860M-Plus is a Micro-ATX motherboard built on the Intel B860 chipset, designed specifically for Intel Core Ultra Processors (Series 2) using the LGA1851 socket. It combines essential platform features with a robust power delivery system and TUF-grade durability for sustained gaming and productivity workloads. The power delivery architecture centres on a 14+2+1 phase design, with each stage rated at 80A, integrating high-side and low-side MOSFETs and drivers for efficient and stable CPU power delivery across varying workloads. Dual 8-pin ATX12V connectors and a 24-pin main power connector round out the power input options. Memory support spans up to 256 GB of non-ECC, unbuffered DDR5 across two DIMM slots in dual-channel configuration. The board supports DDR5 speeds up to 8800+ MT/s via Intel XMP and the exclusive ASUS Enhanced Memory Profile III (AEMP III), which automatically detects and applies optimised frequency, timing, and voltage profiles for PMIC-restricted modules. Storage connectivity is headlined by three M.2 Key-M slots, one of which supports PCIe 5.0 enabling sequential transfer rates up to 128 Gbps, with all M.2 slots supporting NVMe RAID. Four SATA 6 Gb/s ports offer additional drive capacity. The primary PCIe slot runs at PCIe 5.0 x16 for the graphics card, with a secondary PCIe 4.0 x4 slot from the B860 chipset for additional peripherals. A PCIe slot Q-Release lever simplifies GPU removal. Rear I/O includes one USB 20 Gbps Type-C port (with DisplayPort Alt mode), two USB 10 Gbps Type-A ports, four USB 5 Gbps Type-A ports, one USB 2.0 Type-A port, one DisplayPort output, one HDMI output, a Realtek 2.5 Gb Ethernet port, a Wi-Fi module connector, five 3.5 mm audio jacks, and one optical S/PDIF output. An internal USB 10 Gbps Type-C front-panel connector and a Thunderbolt (USB4) header expand front connectivity. Three Addressable Gen 2 RGB headers support Aura Sync lighting.
