The Fractal Design Define 7 XL Dark Tint is a full tower PC cabinet built around a dual-layout interior that adapts to a wide range of build styles — from compact workstations to elaborate water-cooled rigs. Its spacious chassis accommodates motherboards up to E-ATX, EE-ATX, SSI-CEB, and SSI-EEB, giving builders access to the largest server-grade and HEDT platforms available. The case ships in two configurable interior layouts. The standard layout prioritises drive storage, while the Open Layout removes internal dividers to free up space for radiators as large as 480 mm at the front or top, and up to 280 mm at the base — making it a natural fit for high-end custom cooling loops. GPU clearance extends to 549 mm in Open Layout (524 mm with a front fan installed), accommodating even the longest graphics cards on the market. Fan support is extensive: the chassis accepts up to nine 140 mm or eleven 120 mm fans across all mounting positions. Three Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP-14 fans come pre-installed, managed through the included ultra-slim Nexus+ 2 hub that supports up to three PWM and six 3-pin fans simultaneously. Nylon mesh filters cover the front, PSU intake, and top panel, and are accessible without tools for routine cleaning. Sound dampening is addressed through sound-absorbing material bonded to the front, top, and side panels. The top panel swaps between a solid sound-damped steel plate and a filtered ventilation panel (Moduvent) without tools.
