The Gigabyte A520M-K is a Micro ATX motherboard built on the AMD A520 chipset, designed for AMD Socket AM4 processors. It supports AMD Ryzen 5000 Series, Ryzen 5000 G-Series, Ryzen 4000 G-Series, and Ryzen 3000 Series CPUs, making it a practical platform for building or upgrading an AMD-based desktop PC. Memory support is handled by two DDR4 DIMM slots capable of holding up to 64 GB of system memory (32 GB per slot), with native speeds starting at DDR4-2133 and extending up to DDR4-3200 out of the box. Higher frequencies up to DDR4-5100 are achievable via overclocking (O.C.) and XMP profiles. The board also supports ECC Un-buffered modules operating in non-ECC mode. Storage connectivity is well-rounded for a budget Micro ATX platform. One M.2 Socket 3 connector (M key, type 2280) supports both PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe and SATA drives. Four SATA 6 Gb/s ports are available from the chipset, with support for RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10 configurations. Gigabyte's Smart Fan 5 technology provides multi-sensor thermal monitoring across CPU and system fan headers, with support for both PWM and voltage-mode fans. The AMI UEFI BIOS supports Q-Flash for BIOS updates and EasyTune for system tuning via Gigabyte's APP Center software suite.
