Overview
The GIGABYTE B450 Aorus Pro is a full-size ATX motherboard built around the AMD B450 chipset, designed to pair with AMD Ryzen 1st and 2nd Generation processors as well as Ryzen APUs with Radeon Vega graphics via the AM4 socket. Measuring 30.5 cm x 23.5 cm, it fits standard ATX enclosures and offers a well-rounded feature set for mid-range AMD desktop builds. Memory support spans four DDR4 DIMM slots capable of holding up to 64 GB in dual-channel configuration. Supported speeds include DDR4 2133, 2400, 2667, 2933, and 3200 MHz (the last via overclocking), with compatibility for XMP profiles and ECC un-buffered DIMMs operating in non-ECC mode. Storage connectivity is handled by two M.2 Socket 3 connectors alongside six SATA 6 Gb/s ports, with support for RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10 arrays. The primary M.2 slot (M2A) accommodates 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110 form factors over both SATA and PCIe 3.0 x4/x2, while the secondary slot (M2B) supports 2242, 2260, and 2280 modules at PCIe 3.0 x2. A dedicated M.2 Thermal Guard helps manage heat dissipation from installed NVMe drives. AMD StoreMI technology is also supported, allowing users to combine an SSD and HDD into a single accelerated logical volume to improve storage responsiveness. Onboard audio uses the Realtek ALC1200-VB codec with High Definition Audio and 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel output, complemented by WIMA FKP2 and Chemicon audio capacitors as part of the AORUS AMP-UP Audio implementation. Networking is provided by a Realtek Gigabit Ethernet controller (10/100/1000 Mbit). Additional internal headers support further USB 2.0 and USB 3.1 Gen 1 expansion. Expansion slots comprise one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot for the primary graphics card, one PCIe 2.0 x16 physical slot running at up to x4, and two PCIe 2.0 x1 slots, with support for AMD CrossFire multi-GPU configurations. RGB customisation is available through one RGB (RGBW) header and two digital LED strip headers, all manageable via GIGABYTE RGB Fusion software.
