The Gigabyte TRX40 Designare WiFi DDR4 is an XL-ATX motherboard built around the AMD TRX40 chipset and the sTRX4 socket, designed to support 3rd Generation AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors. It is targeted at content creators, 3D artists, engineers, and other professionals who need sustained multi-core performance alongside a broad set of connectivity options. Power delivery relies on a 16+3 phase Infineon digital VRM solution rated at 70A per power stage, fed through two 8-pin ATX 12V connectors plus a dedicated OC_PEG connector. Thermal management across the VRM and chipset uses fin-array heatsinks connected by an 8 mm mega-heatpipe, supplemented by enlarged M.2 thermal guards over each of the four onboard M.2 slots. Memory capacity reaches up to 256 GB across eight DDR4 DIMM slots operating in quad-channel mode. The board supports ECC unbuffered modules (1Rx8/2Rx8) as well as non-ECC unbuffered modules (1Rx8/2Rx8/1Rx16), and XMP profiles. Native DDR4-3200 is supported alongside overclocked profiles up to DDR4-4400. Storage options include four M.2 Socket 3 connectors — two CPU-direct and two chipset-connected — all supporting PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe drives, plus eight SATA 6 Gb/s ports with support for RAID 0, 1, and 10. Wired networking is handled by dual Intel Gigabit LAN (10/100/1000 Mbit) controllers paired with cFosSpeed traffic-shaping software. Wireless connectivity comes from an Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 module (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, 2.4/5 GHz dual-band, up to 2.4 Gbps theoretical, 160 MHz channel support) with Bluetooth 5.0. A bundled GC-Titan Ridge add-in card provides a 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 connection. Audio is delivered through a dual-codec solution — Realtek ALC4050H and ALC1220-VB — with WIMA audio capacitors, 120 dB SNR AMP-UP output, DTS:X Ultra support, 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel output, and an optical S/PDIF output.
