The Intel Core i7-12700K is a 12th Generation Alder Lake desktop processor built on Intel’s Intel 7 manufacturing process and designed for the LGA1700 socket (FCLGA1700). It features a hybrid core architecture combining 8 Performance-cores and 4 Efficient-cores for a total of 12 cores and 20 threads. The Performance-cores operate at a base frequency of 3.60 GHz and can boost up to 4.90 GHz, while the Efficient-cores run at a 2.70 GHz base and boost up to 3.80 GHz. The overall maximum turbo frequency reaches 5.00 GHz via Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0. Intel Thread Director is built directly into the silicon, working with the operating system to intelligently assign workloads to the right core type at the right time, enabling seamless co-operation between Performance and Efficient cores. This makes the i7-12700K well suited for gaming, content creation, and multithreaded productivity tasks. The processor supports both DDR5 memory up to 4800 MT/s and DDR4 memory up to 3200 MT/s across two memory channels, with a maximum supported memory capacity of 128 GB and a peak memory bandwidth of 76.8 GB/s.
