Overview
The MSI B760M Gaming Plus WIFI is a Micro-ATX motherboard built on Intel's B760 chipset, designed to support Intel Core 12th, 13th, and 14th Generation processors as well as Intel Pentium Gold and Celeron processors in the LGA1700 socket. Its compact 243.84 mm × 243.84 mm footprint makes it an efficient choice for space-conscious gaming and productivity builds that still demand strong connectivity and upgrade headroom. Power delivery is handled by a 12+1 Duet Rail Power System with ProPower (P-PAK) components, fed through an 8-pin plus 4-pin CPU power configuration. MSI's Core Boost and Memory Boost technologies work alongside this robust VRM arrangement to help stabilise performance under sustained loads. For memory, the board provides four DDR5 slots with a maximum validated capacity of 192 GB (as specified in the chipset section), supporting JEDEC speeds from 4800 MHz up to 6800+ MHz via XMP 3.0 overclocking profiles in dual-channel configuration. Non-ECC, unbuffered modules are required. Storage connectivity includes two M.2 slots—both supporting PCIe 4.0 ×4 and 2280/2260/2242 form factors, with the second slot additionally supporting SATA mode—and four SATA 6 Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 support. Networking is a genuine strength: onboard Intel Wi-Fi 6E delivers tri-band 2.4 GHz/5 GHz/6 GHz coverage with MU-MIMO TX/RX and speeds up to 2.4 Gbps over a 160 MHz channel, paired with Bluetooth 5.3. Wired connectivity is provided by a Realtek RTL8125BG 2.5G LAN port. Display output covers two HDMI 2.1 ports (4K @ 60 Hz) and two DisplayPort 1.4 outputs (4K @ 60 Hz) for integrated-graphics users. Audio is managed by a Realtek ALC897 codec with 7.1-channel HD audio support. Rear USB includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (10 Gbps), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (5 Gbps), and two USB 2.0 ports, with additional front-panel headers. Thermal management features an extended heatsink, MOSFET thermal pads rated at 7 W/mK, and additional choke thermal pads.
