Overview
The MSI H310M Pro-M2 Plus is a Micro-ATX motherboard built on the Intel H310 chipset, designed to support 8th and 9th Generation Intel Core, Pentium Gold, and Celeron processors in the LGA 1151 socket. Its compact 9.1 x 7.3 inch (23.0 x 18.5 cm) form factor makes it well-suited for space-efficient builds without sacrificing essential connectivity. The board features two DDR4 memory slots supporting speeds of 2133, 2400, and up to 2666 MHz in dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 32 GB. Intel Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) support allows compatible RAM kits to run at their rated speeds via a simple BIOS toggle. For storage, a single M.2 Key-M slot supports both PCIe 2.0 x4 (up to 20 Gb/s) and SATA 6 Gb/s drives in 2242, 2260, and 2280 form factors. Note that installing an M.2 SATA SSD will disable the SATA1 port. Four additional SATA 6 Gb/s ports accommodate traditional drives for expanded capacity. Display output is handled through three integrated graphics ports on the rear panel: VGA (up to 2048x1536 @ 50 Hz), DVI-D (up to 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz), and HDMI 1.4 (up to 4096x2160 @ 30 Hz), with support for up to two simultaneous displays. Note that processors with an 'F' suffix do not support integrated graphics. Audio is managed by a Realtek ALC887 codec delivering 7.1-channel High Definition audio. The isolated audio circuit design with separated PCB layers and de-pop protection helps reduce signal interference and audio noise. Connectivity includes an Intel I219-V Gigabit LAN controller, four USB 3.1 Gen1 ports and six USB 2.0 ports (a mix of rear panel and internal headers), plus a PS/2 combo port. Two fan headers (4-pin CPU and 4-pin system) support both DC and PWM control for flexible thermal management. MSI's EZ Debug LED simplifies troubleshooting by indicating POST failure points, while the reinforced PCIe Steel Slot adds mechanical protection to the primary x16 slot.
