Overview
The MSI MAG B460M Mortar WiFi is a Micro-ATX motherboard built on the Intel B460 chipset, designed for 10th Generation Intel Core, Pentium Gold, and Celeron processors using the LGA1200 socket. Measuring 9.6 in. x 9.6 in. (24.3 cm x 24.3 cm), its compact form factor suits a wide range of mid-tower and mini-tower builds. Power delivery is handled by a 12+1+1 Duet Rail Power System, supported by MSI's Core Boost and DDR4 Boost technologies. The extended PWM heatsink and M.2 Shield Frozr thermal solutions help maintain stable temperatures during sustained workloads. A 24-pin ATX main power connector and 8-pin ATX 12V power connector are provided board. Four DDR4 DIMM slots support up to 128 GB of memory in dual-channel configuration. Core i7 and i9 processors support DDR4-2933 (max), while Core i5 and below are limited to DDR4-2666 (max). XMP profiles are supported; only non-ECC, unbuffered modules are compatible. Storage is handled by six SATA 6Gb/s ports and two M.2 Key-M slots. M2_1 supports PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA 6Gb/s in 2242/2260/2280 lengths, while M2_2 supports PCIe 3.0 x4 in the same lengths. Intel Optane Memory Ready and Intel Smart Response Technology are also supported. Networking is a standout feature: a Realtek RTL8125B 2.5G LAN controller delivers wired speeds up to 2.5 Gbps, while the pre-installed Intel AX200 module provides Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with up to 2.4 Gbps throughput via 160 MHz channels, MU-MIMO Rx, and Bluetooth 5.1. Displays are supported via one HDMI port (up to 4096x2160 @ 30 Hz) and one DisplayPort (up to 4096x2304 @ 60 Hz) when using a processor with integrated graphics. Audio is managed by a Realtek ALC1200 codec delivering 7.1-channel HD audio with optical S/PDIF output. USB connectivity includes two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, five USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and six USB 2.0 ports across rear panel and internal headers. RGB headers include one 4-pin RGB connector and one 3-pin RAINBOW LED connector for lighting customisation. The board ships with a pre-installed I/O shield.
