The MSI MAG COREFROZR AA13 is a compact single-tower CPU air cooler designed for mainstream desktop builds that demand reliable thermal management without occupying excessive case space. Standing at just 152 mm tall, this cooler is compatible with most mid-tower enclosures, making it a practical choice for a wide range of system configurations. At the heart of the COREFROZR AA13’s cooling architecture are four 6 mm copper heat pipes arranged in a direct-touch configuration. Rather than using a base plate, these heat pipes make contact directly with the CPU heat spreader, reducing the thermal interface layers between the processor and the copper for more efficient heat transfer. Heat is rapidly conducted away from the source and dispersed across the fin stack, which comprises 50 high-density aluminium fins optimised for focused airflow and low resistance. Airflow is driven by a 120 mm CycloBlade7 fan mounted with rifle bearings. Rifle bearings are known for their longevity and low operating noise compared to sleeve bearing alternatives, and the CycloBlade7 blade geometry is shaped to concentrate airflow and reduce acoustic output. The fan supports PWM control, allowing the system board to dynamically adjust speed based on thermal load, keeping noise levels in check during lighter workloads. Lighting is handled through an ARGB header, with effects managed via MSI CENTER software on compatible platforms. The top cover of the cooler carries a laser-etched MSI Dragon emblem, a recognisable design element across the MAG product line. Installation is supported for Intel LGA 1700 and LGA 1851 sockets as well as AMD AM4 and AM5 sockets, covering current-generation platforms from both manufacturers. The spring-screw mounting mechanism is designed for straightforward installation, and the Intel mounting kit comes pre-fitted out of the box. Thermal compound is pre-applied to the heat pipe contact surface, removing the need to source and apply paste separately before the first boot. The cooler carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty.
