The Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC is the second-generation evolution of one of the most respected dual-tower CPU air coolers ever made. The LBC (Low Base Convexity) variant is specifically engineered for CPU platforms where the contact surface has a lower degree of flatness, ensuring optimal thermal interface contact and the best possible heat transfer between the CPU lid and the heatsink base. At the heart of the NH-D15 G2 LBC are eight copper heatpipes — two more than the original NH-D15 — that dramatically increase thermal capacity under extreme heat loads of 250W and beyond. The asymmetrical, optimised fin-stacks feature a tighter 1.6mm fin spacing (down from 1.9mm in the original), enabling 26 additional fins and a 20% increase in total fin surface area. The front fin-stack has also been narrowed by 5mm to better balance airflow load across both fans. The result is improved cooling performance packaged in a slightly more compact form factor: 9mm less heatsink depth compared to the original NH-D15, with the same width and total height including fans. Power comes from two next-generation NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans running in a speed-offset configuration. These 140mm round-frame fans are purpose-built to deliver superior airflow and static pressure with exceptional acoustic efficiency, setting a new reference point for performance-to-noise ratio in their class. Installation is handled by Noctua's SecuFirm2+ mounting system, a Torx-based upgrade to the renowned SecuFirm2 platform.
