The Noctua NH-U14S DX-4677 is a premium single-tower air cooler purpose-built for Intel LGA4677 platforms, including 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors (Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze series) as well as Intel w9, w7, w5, and w3 series workstation CPUs. Noctua's DX line has become a go-to choice for engineers, audio and video professionals, and system builders who require dependable, near-silent thermal management in noise-sensitive environments. At the heart of the NH-U14S DX-4677 is a custom-designed contact surface, larger than the standard NH-U14S base, engineered to properly cover the IHS geometry of LGA4677 processors. The heatsink is constructed from copper heat pipes and a copper base with aluminium cooling fins, nickel-plated and joined via soldered contacts for long-term reliability. Six heat pipes transfer heat efficiently from the CPU contact surface through the fin stack, enabling quiet yet effective thermal dissipation. Cooling is handled by two NF-A15 140mm PWM fans, which automatically adjust speed in response to system load via the motherboard's 4-pin PWM header (12 V). At maximum speed the fans reach 1,500 RPM, while typical noise output is rated at 24.6 dB(A) — quiet enough for open-plan and studio environments. The dual-fan configuration provides increased airflow through the fin stack without a proportional noise penalty. Installation uses Noctua's SecuFirm2 mounting system. Note that LGA4677 platforms require a CPU-specific carrier frame: this is included with retail-boxed CPUs but must be sourced separately for tray CPUs.
