The SilverStone RM400 is a 4U rackmount server chassis engineered for professional and data-centre environments where reliability and flexibility are non-negotiable. Built to accommodate a wide range of hardware configurations, the RM400 supports motherboards up to the SSI-CEB form factor, making it compatible with both standard ATX and the larger CEB server boards commonly found in workstation and entry-level server deployments. Power supply flexibility is a key advantage of the RM400. It accepts ATX (PS2) or Mini Redundant power supplies with a maximum depth of 160 mm, giving system integrators the freedom to choose the right PSU for their workload — including SilverStone’s own range of high-efficiency ATX power supplies. Seven standard-profile PCI/PCIe expansion slots are supported, enabling comprehensive I/O expansion for NIC cards, HBAs, RAID controllers, and GPU accelerators. Storage provisioning is handled by three front-accessible 5.25-inch drive bays, which can accommodate optical drives, fan controllers, or hot-swap cages via third-party adapters. The front door features a key lock, adding a physical security layer appropriate for shared rack environments. Cooling is handled by two included PWM fans — one 120 mm and one 80 mm — both controllable via standard PWM headers, allowing the system to balance acoustics and thermal performance dynamically.
