The Thermaltake The Tower 500 is a vertically oriented mid-tower chassis built for builders who demand both exceptional thermal performance and a clear showcase of their components. Inspired by the larger Tower 900, it distils the same design philosophy into a more compact 608 x 388 x 398 mm footprint without sacrificing expansion headroom or cooling capacity. Three 4mm tempered glass panels — positioned at the front and both sides — deliver an unobstructed panoramic view of your internal build, letting RGB lighting and custom loop tubing take centre stage. The steel body is crafted from SPCC for a rigid, vibration-dampening structure that keeps the chassis stable even with a fully loaded drive bay. The Tower 500 accommodates four motherboard form factors out of the box: Mini-ITX (6.7″ x 6.7″), Micro-ATX (9.6″ x 9.6″), standard ATX (12″ x 9.6″), and full E-ATX up to 12″ x 12″, giving both entry-level and enthusiast builders room to grow. Nine expansion slots and front-panel I/O comprising a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, four USB 3.0 ports, and an HD audio jack round out connectivity. Cooling flexibility is a core strength. The right-side radiator bracket accepts up to a 360mm AIO or a custom liquid-cooling radiator up to 399mm in length, with room for a push-pull six-fan configuration. The top supports up to a 280mm radiator, and the bottom bracket can be oriented vertically or horizontally to house up to a 240mm radiator or two 120mm fans. Two pre-installed 120mm rear exhaust fans (1,500 rpm, 35.8 dBA) keep airflow moving from the moment the system powers The right-side panel can be rotated 180° to expose the mesh and increase direct exhaust ventilation. Seven magnetic particle filters protect all intake points and are tool-free to remove for cleaning. Storage capacity is generous: the modular HDD bracket supports up to 8 x 3.5″ HDDs, or a mixed configuration of 4 x 3.5″ HDDs plus 8 x 2.5″ SSDs.
