Overview
The MSI MAG B560M Bazooka is a Micro-ATX motherboard built on the Intel B560 chipset, designed for LGA1200 socket processors. It supports Intel 10th Gen Core, 11th Gen Core, Pentium Gold, and Celeron processors, making it a versatile platform for a range of desktop builds. Memory support spans four DDR4 slots accommodating up to 128 GB of non-ECC unbuffered RAM. The board runs at JEDEC speeds of 2133/2666/2933 MHz on 10th Gen CPUs and adds 3200 MHz support on 11th Gen CPUs. Intel XMP profiles are also supported, and overclocking headroom reaches up to 5066 MHz in a single-DIMM single-rank configuration. Storage connectivity is a highlight: two M.2 Key-M slots are on board, with the primary slot supporting PCIe 4.0 x4 on 11th Gen CPUs or PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA on 10th Gen CPUs. The secondary M.2 slot supports PCIe 3.0 x4. Six SATA 6 Gb/s ports provide additional drive capacity. Intel Optane Memory is supported on compatible configurations. The expansion slot layout includes one PCIe x16 slot (PCIe 4.0 on 11th Gen, PCIe 3.0 on 10th Gen) and two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots from the B560 chipset. The primary PCIe x16 slot features MSI Steel Armor reinforcement to support the weight of heavier graphics cards. For networking, a Realtek RTL8125B 2.5 Gbps LAN controller is integrated, paired with MSI LAN Manager software for traffic prioritisation in gaming scenarios. Audio is handled by a Realtek ALC897 codec delivering 7.1-channel HD audio. Back-panel connectivity includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) Type-A ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.0b (4K 60Hz), DisplayPort 1.4 (4K 60Hz), a 2.5G LAN port, and audio jacks. An additional internal USB 3.2 Gen 1 header and two USB 2.0 headers expand connectivity for the chassis. Thermal management features an extended PWM heatsink design covering VRM areas. Fan control includes a 4-pin CPU fan header, a dedicated 4-pin water-pump header (up to 3A), and two 4-pin system fan headers, all manageable through BIOS or MSI software. EZ Debug LED indicators for CPU, DRAM, VGA, and boot device assist with troubleshooting. RGB lighting is supported via one 4-pin RGB (12V) connector and one 3-pin RAINBOW (ARGB, 5V) connector.
