Both fans use a fluid dynamic bearing developed with a German-formulated alloy-lubricant combination that minimises friction, reduces wear on the pin and sleeve, and lowers bearing noise over the product’s lifespan. The mounting system uses a clip-in mechanism rather than traditional fan clips, so fans can be added, removed, or replaced even after the cooler is installed in the case. The Freezer 36 ships with a dedicated contact frame for Intel LGA1851 and LGA1700 sockets, designed to distribute mounting pressure more evenly than Intel’s Independent Loading Mechanism (ILM), reducing mechanical stress on the CPU die, IHS solder layer, and mainboard PCB.
