Overview
The Gigabyte B660M Gaming X AX DDR5 is a Micro ATX motherboard built on the Intel B660 chipset, designed to support 12th Generation Intel Core, Pentium Gold, and Celeron processors via the LGA1700 socket. It is an ideal foundation for mid-range gaming and productivity builds that demand modern connectivity and future-ready memory support. At the heart of its memory subsystem is DDR5 architecture with XMP 3.0 support across four DIMM slots, accommodating up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM in dual-channel configuration. This brings substantially greater memory bandwidth compared to previous-generation DDR4 platforms, helping to reduce bottlenecks in memory-intensive workloads. For wireless connectivity, the board carries the AX designation, indicating integrated Wi-Fi support. Wired networking is handled by a 2.5 Gbps LAN controller, providing low-latency, high-throughput Ethernet suited for online gaming and large file transfers alike. Expansion is handled by a single PCIe x16 slot running at full x16 bandwidth, suitable for a discrete graphics card. Storage options include four SATA 6 Gb/s connectors for traditional drives, while the board also supports M.2 NVMe storage via its next-generation storage interfaces. The rear I/O panel features five USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 2.0 port, and one USB Type-C port, covering a wide range of peripheral requirements. Display output for integrated graphics is provided via one HDMI and one DisplayPort output. Onboard audio is managed by a Realtek Audio CODEC, offering up to 7.1-channel surround sound through three rear audio ports. Built to Gigabyte's Ultra Durable standards, the board uses reinforced PCIe and memory slots and adheres to quality manufacturing processes. A 24-pin ATX power connector is used for main board power delivery.
