Overview
The Gigabyte X870E Aorus Pro ICE is a full-size ATX motherboard built on AMD's flagship X870E chipset and designed for the AM5 platform. It supports AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 series processors, giving builders a forward-looking foundation for both current-generation and upcoming Ryzen CPUs. Power delivery is handled by a digital twin 16+2+2 phase VRM solution, supported by VRM Thermal Armor Advanced to keep temperatures stable under demanding workloads. Four DDR5 DIMM slots accommodate up to 256 GB of non-ECC unbuffered memory, with support for AMD EXPO and XMP profiles at speeds reaching up to 8200 MT/s, enabling enthusiast-grade overclocking configurations. Storage is a clear strength of this board. Four M.2 Socket 3 connectors are included, with three running at PCIe 5.0 x4 speeds, providing headroom for the fastest NVMe drives currently available. The primary PCIe x16 slot operates at PCIe 5.0 x16 with Ryzen 9000 and 7000 series processors and features Gigabyte's PCIe UD Slot X reinforcement for enhanced durability. Four SATA 6 Gb/s ports round out storage connectivity. Networking is led by Wi-Fi 7 with a 2T2R directional antenna and Bluetooth 5.4, complemented by a 2.5 GbE wired LAN port. Sensor Panel Link provides an onboard video port for in-chassis LCD panel integration. Lighting is managed through three addressable RGB Gen 2 headers and one standard RGB header. Audio is powered by a Realtek ALC1220 HD codec paired with audiophile-grade capacitors.
