Overview
The MSI B760M Project Zero WiFi is a Micro-ATX motherboard built around the Intel B760 chipset, designed for builders who prioritise a clean, clutter-free interior aesthetic without sacrificing connectivity or performance headroom. Its defining feature is the back-connect design, which relocates the ATX power connector, dual CPU power connectors, fan headers, SATA ports, and other pin headers to the rear of the PCB. The result is a front-facing board free of cable clutter, letting your liquid cooler, graphics card, and chassis lighting take centre stage. The board supports Intel Core 12th, 13th, and 14th generation processors via the LGA1700 socket, as well as Intel Pentium Gold and Celeron processors in the same socket class. Four DDR5 slots accommodate up to 192 GB of memory, with JEDEC speeds starting at 4800 MHz and overclocking headroom extending to 7800+ MHz under the right conditions using Intel XMP profiles. For storage, two M.2 slots are available — the first runs directly from the CPU at up to PCIe 4.0 x4, while the second connects through the chipset and supports both PCIe 4.0 x4 and SATA modes. Four SATA 6Gbps ports round out the storage options, with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 across SATA devices. Expansion slots include a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot from the CPU alongside a chipset-fed PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. Wireless connectivity is handled by an Intel Wi-Fi 6E module pre-installed in the M.2 Key-E slot, supporting MU-MIMO on 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands (160 MHz) at up to 2.4 Gbps, plus Bluetooth 5.3. Wired networking uses a Realtek 2.5 Gbps LAN controller. The rear I/O panel includes HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 outputs for systems with integrated graphics, a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port at 20 Gbps, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports at 10 Gbps, and optical S/PDIF audio output alongside the Realtek ALC897 7.1-channel HD audio codec. The power delivery system uses a 10+2+1 phase direct VRM design fed by dual 8-pin CPU power connectors, supported by MSI's Core Boost technology for sustained performance under gaming and productivity workloads. A dedicated pump fan header rated up to 3 A gives water-cooling users direct pump speed control. Addressable Gen 2 and standard RGB headers are included for lighting customisation, and four EZ Debug LEDs aid troubleshooting during POST.
