The MSI X299 Pro is an ATX-form-factor motherboard built on the Intel X299 chipset, designed for Intel Core X-series processors in the LGA2066 socket — including the 10000-series, 9000-series, and 78xx-series (and above). Its eight DDR4 DIMM slots support a quad-channel memory architecture with a maximum capacity of 256 GB. Memory speeds range from native DDR4-2133 up to DDR4-4200 via overclocking, and the board is compatible with Intel Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) for simplified performance tuning. Non-ECC, unbuffered DIMMs are supported. For expansion, the board provides four PCIe 3.0 x16 slots. Bandwidth allocation scales with CPU lane count: 48-lane CPUs operate at x16/x8/x16/x8, 44-lane CPUs at x16/x4/x16/x8, and 28-lane CPUs at x16/x4/x8/x0.
